February 10th, 2008 the Trojan Dance Force will travel to Las Vegas to fight for the National Championship. As the only USC Athletic-sponsored competitive dance team, the Trojan Dance Force works tirelessly to positively represent the university they love.
In addition to working on basketball routines, the Trojan Dance Force is preparing for the USA National Collegiate Dance Championship in Las Vegas. In 2006 and 2007, Dance Force won 1st runner-up for the National Championship. This year, the team is ready to fight for a 2008 National Championship. Every year, the Trojan Dance Force competes for the title against college dance teams around the nation such as University of Texas, University of Oregon, BYU, Louisville, UCLA, Rutgers and many more.
This November, the Trojan Dance Force worked with Karl Mundt, award-winning choreographer, to put together a fierce and challenging competition routine. The team worked tirelessly for 16 hours over a two-day period with Mr. Mundt to learn their 2008 nationals routine. In addition to working with professional choreographers, the team trains extensively to maintain strong dance technique. Every week, a technique coach works with the team to improve flexibility, pirouettes, leaps, and kicks. This training will undoubtedly set a new precedent for the Trojan Dance Force this competition season.
The Trojan Dance Force has earned high respect at Collegiate Dance Competitions. Past titles include: 2003 National Champions at COA Nationals in Irvine, CA, 2004 National Champions at USA Nationals in Las Vegas, 2004 1st Runner-Up at NDA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida, and 2006 & 2007 1st Runner-Up at USA Nationals in Las Vegas.
