Rebecca Soni and O.J. Mayo were named the USC Wells Fargo Student-Athletes of the Week today (March 3) for the week of Feb. 25-March 2.

Soni of the women's swimming team bettered her school and NCAA record in the 200-yard breastroke to capture the title at the Pac-10 Championships on Saturday, March 1. The junior's time of 2:06.11 was only about 1/3 of a second off the world record. Soni also won the 100-yard breaststroke title on Friday.

Mayo of the men's basketball scored 57 points in the road split in Arizona over the weekend, pouring in a career-high 37 points at ASU on March 1. His 37 points tied for the second most ever in a game by a USC freshman and pushed is season total to 579 points, a new USC freshman record.
