Veronika Bartunkova of the women's water polo team and Juan Figueroa of the men's volleyball team were named the USC Wells Fargo Student-Athletes of the Week today (March 31) for the week of March 24-30.

Bartunkova, a senior driver, scored nine goals in two games for the Trojans in two MPSF victories. Against UC Santa Barbara, Bartunkova scored a career-high five goals while adding two steals and two assists. The following day in an important road match against San Diego State, Bartunkova led USC in scoring for the third straight game in tallying four goals as USC snapped a nine-game win streak held by the Aztecs and improved the Trojans' record to 14-5 overall and 7-1 in MPSF play.

Figueroa had 35 kills, hit .518, had 12 digs and five blocks in 3-0 sweeps over Pacific and No. 6 Stanford. In Saturday's win over Stanford, the senior led USC with 12 kills on .417 hitting.
