Amanda Fink, Belen Mozo, Robert Farah and Kaes Van't Hof were named USC's Wells Fargo Student-Athletes of the Week today (May 27) for the week of May 19-25.
The junior Fink of the women's tennis team reached the NCAA quarterfinals in singles and the NCAA quarterfinals in doubles with Gabriela Niculescu. She ended the season 38-10 in singles and 35-11 in doubles with Niculescu. The pair lost in three sets to a team from Notre Dame, 6-4, 3-6, 0-6 and Fink lost in singles play to Fani Chifchieva of Auburn, 6-7 (2), 6-3, 0-6
Mozo, a sophomore, helped lead USC to the NCAA Women's Golf title, while finishing fourth individually with a four-round total of 290 (+2). Mozo shot a three-under 69 on the first day to help USC to a first-day lead, a lead they would never relinquish. She was named USC's ninth first-team All-American in women's golf.
The sophomore Farah and senior Van't Hof won the NCAA Men's Doubles Championship in straight sets 7-6 (10) and 7-6 (6) over a team from Mississippi, becoming USC's first men's tennis doubles champions since 1989. The pair won their last 26 doubles matches of the season and finished the season 39-3. Farah also reached the Round of 16 and Van't Hof the Round of 32 in singles play.
