Freshmen Zsofia Erdelyi and Tim Sluiter were named USC's Wells Fargo Student-Athletes of the Week today (June 2) for the week of May 26-June 1.

Erdelyi of the women's track and field team broke her school record and placed second at the NCAA West Regional in the women's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:03.73. The native of Hungary had set the school record by three seconds on April 18 at the Mt. SAC Relays and then shaved another eight seconds off that mark on Saturday. Erdelyi automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships to be held at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa from June 11-14.

Sluiter of the men's golf team led the Trojans to a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships and tied for ninth individually with a three-day total of 297 (+9). Two times in four days the native of The Netherlands carded the best round by a Trojan golfer, including the best single-day effort of a 70 (-2) in the first round.
