THIS YEAR: Redshirt junior Brandon Estrada returns to action this season after redshirting in 2008. He came within four inches of cracking USC's all-time top 10 pole vault list as a sophomore.

2007: Improved more than one-foot and five inches from his freshman season. Placed first in the University/Open pole vault competition at the Mt. SAC Relays on April 14 with a height of 17-0 3/4 (5.20m). Placed second at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 28 with a pole vault of 17-0 (5.18m). Set a new PR of 17-1 (5.21m) to place 11th in the pole vault at the NCAA West Regional held in Eugene, Ore. on May 25. Named as honorable mention to the Pac-10 All-Academic team.

2006: Had a season-best pole vault of 15-7 (4.75m) to tie for second at the Northridge Invitational on March 18.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended El Camino Real High in Woodland Hills, Calif. Competed four years in track and field and one in wrestling. Was all-league and all-section his last three years at El Camino Real and was all-city and a state competitor as a senior. Took second place at the city championship while wrestling at 125 pounds.

PERSONAL: Brandon was born on Oct. 28, 1987...Is the son of actor Erik Estrada, who played the character Ponch on the wildly popular late '70s show CHiPs...his father was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 19, 2007 (on the north side of Hollywood Blvd, between Sycamore and Orange streets)...He is an undeclared major at USC and would like to go into entertainment law.
