THIS YEAR: Look for senior Dennis Rice to make an impact in the javelin in 2006.

2005: Rice threw a career-best 211-6 on March 18 at the Willie Williams Invitational in Arizona to better his fourth all-time mark at USC...the throw was nearly 42 feet better than the next closest Trojan last season...Finished eighth at the Pac-10s with a throw of 197-2...threw 196-11 at the NCAA West Regional, but did not place.

2004: Rice threw a season-best 187-6 at the Pac-10s, finishing 11th...He finished third at the UCLA dual meet with a throw of 179-4.

2003: Rice was USC's top javelin thrower as a redshirt freshman...Won the dual meet with a PR 209-2 that put him into fourth on the all-time USC javelin chart...Finished 11th at the Pac-10s with a throw of 184-10...Placed 13th at the NCAA West Regionals with a throw of 208-7. 2002: Rice redshirted his first season at USC.

HIGH SCHOOL: Rice prepped at Glenwe High in Hillsboro, Ore....He was All-State first team as a senior and second team as a junior...He won the state championship in 2001...His best mark of 225-10 was third among all high schoolers in the nation in 2001.
