USC track and field sent several competitors to the 2004 Tyson Indoor Invitational held at the Randall Tyson Track Complex last Friday and Saturday (Feb. 13 and Feb. 14).
Freshman Michelle Sanford was the sole winner for the Trojans, as she jumped 20-1 to win the long jump.
All-American junior Allen Simms went 54-10 1/2 in the triple jump to finish second, while sophomore All-American Jesse Williams finished fifth in the high jump with a mark of 7-0 1/2, a height that ties him for ninth on the all-time USC high jump chart.
Sophomore All-American Virginia Powell finished third in the 60m hurdles in an NCAA provisional time of 8.27. In the prelims, she finished second in heat one in 8.25.
The Trojans open their outdoor season at the Claremont Relays on Feb. 28.
