2009
Hershiser will miss the entire 2009 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in the summer on his right elbow.
2008
As a freshman, he made 13 appearances and posted a 1-0 record with an 8.22 ERA...in 15 1/3 innings, Hershiser allowed 20 hits and 14 earned runs with eight walks, 10 strikeouts and a .308 opponents' batting average...recorded his first collegiate win on April 8 against No. 16 Cal State Fullerton after throwing 1 1/3 no-hit innings with a walk and two strikeouts in the 5-4 win in 11 innings...threw two scoreless innings on March 24 at Loyola Marymount...made his collegiate debut on March 4 at Pepperdine with two scoreless innings, allowing one hit with a walk and two strikeouts.
High School
He earned all-conference honors in his junior and senior seasons at St. Mark's School in Dallas, Texas for coach Tom Adams...in his senior season, he batted .387 with five home runs and 30 RBI while going 6-2 on the mound in 50 innings with a 2.24 ERA and 70 strikeouts...member of the baseball squad that won conference titles in his freshman and senior seasons...also earned all-conference honors on the basketball team.

He is majoring in business administration...parents are Orel and Jamie...father was a three-time All-Star in the major leagues and won the Cy Young Award for the 1988 world champion Los Angeles Dodgers...has one brother, Quinton...lists his father as his biggest sports hero...lists Field Of Dreams and The Boondock Saints as his favorite movies...lists 24, The Office and SportsCenter as his favorite television shows...enjoys listening to T.I., Muse, Cartel, Kanye West and Young Jeezy...birthdate is Sept. 15, 1988.
