Vasquez will give the Trojans a starting senior outfielder, as well as a member of the starting rotation this season.

2008
He made 39 starts in 43 games as a position player and made 12 appearances with two starts on the mound...at the plate, he batted .315 (45-for-143) with 11 doubles, one triple, four home runs, seven stolen bases and 33 RBI...as a pitcher, he went 3-1 with a 3.65 ERA and one save...in 37 innings, he allowed 38 hits and 15 earned runs with six walks, 24 RBI and a .268 opponents' batting average...in the Trojans' season finale on May 25 at Washington State, he was 2-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and three RBI...for the week of May 14-18, Vasquez made three relief appearances and recorded two wins and a save...on May 14 at UC Riverside, he allowed one run in 3 2/3 innings for the win...against two-time defending national champion Oregon State, he threw two scoreless innings on May 17 for his first save as a Trojan and came back the next day with three scoreless innings for the win...started in right field as well during all three games, batting .417 (5-for-12) at the plate...his best start as a pitcher came on March 5 against Pepperdine (ranked No. 24 by Rivals.com) with a career-long 7 2/3 innings, allowing just one run with no walks and seven strikeouts...went 5-for-11 (.455) with two doubles, a home run, four RBI and three stolen bases in the season-opening series at Florida International (Feb. 22-24)...on Feb. 23, he also came into the game as a reliever and threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings where he allowed just one hit...in the summer, he played for the Joplin Slashers of the Jayhawk League during the summer.

2007
As a two-way player for the Trojans in his 2007 sophomore season, Vasquez batted. 196 with eight RBI while going 4-6 with a 5.16 ERA in 17 appearances on the mound...had had 17 starts in right field...he was 11-for-56 at the plate with four doubles and two stolen bases...on the mound, he had 12 starts and threw 75 innings...allowed 92 hits with 24 walks and 43 strikeouts with a .301 opponents' batting average...in a pinch-hit appearance on Feb. 18 at San Diego State, Vasquez hit a three-run double as the Trojans rallied with four runs in the inning...earned his first win as a Trojan on Feb. 27 against Loyola Marymount with seven innings, allowing just one run on five hits with no walks and five strikeouts his second win of the season came on March 14 against Portland where he registered his third quality start in a row, going seven innings and allowing just one run on five hits...went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double on April 20 at Washington...his final win of the season came on May 23 at UC Santa Barbara where he went six innings and allowed one run on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts...played with the Seguin Steelers during the summer...team finished seventh at the 2006 NBC World Series in Wichita, Kansas.


2006
In his 2006 freshman season at Texas A&M, Vasquez went 0-1 on the mound with a 3.78 ERA and two saves while batting .231 (3-for-13) with two RBI...in 23 appearances as a pitcher, he threw 33 1/3 innings while allowing 37 hits, nine walks and 25 strikeouts with opponents batting .270 against him...went four innings and allowed one earned run on six hits on March 24 against Texas Tech while striking out a season-high five batters...went a season-high 5 2/3 innings on April 22 at Baylor, allowing one run on seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts...finished the season by allowing only one earned run in his final 10 appearances (nine innings).

High School
He was a four-year letterwinner at Ronald Reagan High in San Antonio, Texas...earned all-state honors as an outfielder in his senior season after batting .482 with four home runs and 37 RBI...earned all-state honors and was named Region Class 5A Player of the Year in his junior season as a pitcher after going 14-1 with a 0.67 ERA...member of the National Honor Society.
