LOS ANGELES -- A brand-new scoreboard at Dedeaux Field is set for completion this week, prior to Friday's home opener against Bethune-Cookman. The new Daktronics scoreboard features a 176x320-pixel video screen that is located in the center.

The scoreboard is part of a continued facility upgrade which will also feature the completion of the Rod Dedeaux Research for Baseball Institute (RDRBI) this spring. The RDRBI features renovated batting cages, a new weight room and a state-of-the-art video motion analysis system.

USC opens the 2008 home schedule on Friday (Feb. 29) against Bethune-Cookman at 7 p.m. as part of the MLB Urban Invitational.
