LOS ANGELES -- USC sophomore shortstop Grant Green (Anaheim Hills, Calif./Canyon HS) has been named third team All-American by Baseball America. Green batted .390 (80-for-205) this season for the Trojans with nine home runs, 46 RBI and 10 stolen bases.

Green is USC's first All-American since 2005 when Jeff Clement and Ian Kennedy earned first team honors. USC now has a total of 176 All-American selections in its history.

This season, Green led the team in batting average and home runs while setting the school career record for triples. On May 4 against Washington, he set the record with his 14th career triple and has a total of 15 triples in two seasons.

He had a career-high 19-game hitting streak this season (April 1-May 2) where he batted .481 (38-for-79) with 23 runs scored, seven doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 23 RBI.

Last season, Green earned Rivals.com and Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America honors.
