LOS ANGELES -- USC baseball players Mike O'Neill and Vinnie St. John completed their summers with roles on championship teams. O'Neill played for the Thunder Bay Border Cats, who won the Northwoods League championship in a best two-out-of-three series against Madison last week. St. John was a member of the Santa Barbara Foresters that won the NBC World Series in Wichita, Kansas.

O'Neill batted .297 (73-for-246) in 68 games for the Border Cats. He led the team with 19 doubles while adding two triples, 29 RBI and a team-leading 20 stolen bases.

St. John played in 32 games for the Foresters with 22 starts. He batted .310 (27-for-87) with five doubles, two triples, five home runs, 21 RBI and three stolen bases.
