USC head coach Tim Floyd rested his starters and Fresno Pacific rode the hot shooting of forward Adrian Sanchez to defeat the Trojans 65-44 in an exhibition game held at the Galen Center tonight.

With its top five scorers given the night off, USC struggled early to find its scoring punch and trailed 27-11 with little more than six minutes left in the first half. The Trojans then hit six of their final nine shots of the half to cut the lead to 30-25 at the break.

The Trojans cut the lead to 32-29 early in the second half, but the Sunbirds went on a 25-5 run to put the game out of reach.

"We wanted our guys who don't play much to get more minutes," said Floyd. "It's important for players to see and understand how far they have to go in their understanding the game and what we'ver trying to do."

Junior forward Keith Wilkinson had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds to lead USC.

FPU's senior forward Adrian Sanchez led all scorers with 26 points, by hitting 6 of 7 three-point shots and 10 of 12 shots overall.
