LA LIVEPEACE, a grassroots Peace March and Rally for Kids to promote peace in the streets of Los Angeles, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Coliseum.

It hosted by the Coliseum in partnership with A BETTER LA and UNITY ONE with the goal of promoting non-violence in the streets of Los Angeles and raising public awareness regarding our community's efforts toward gang intervention.

The Peace March will begin at the bronze statues on the east side of the Coliseum. Marching on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, peacekeepers will walk their way towards a violence-free community.

Following the March, the Peace Rally will commence inside the east end of the Coliseum with a Master of Ceremonies and live music, along with guest speakers such as A BETTER LA's Pete Carroll, Bo Taylor of UNITY ONE, Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, Los Angeles City Police Department Deputy Chief Charlie Beck, Blinky Rodriguez of Communities in Schools, Homies Unidos Alex Sanchez, Maximum Force's Aquil Basheer, Vicky Lindsey of Project Cry No More and others. These individuals will inspire all those who attend to promote a peaceful existence within Los Angeles.

A BETTER LA, a non-profit organization founded by USC head football coach Pete Carroll, supports community efforts in stopping gang violence and promoting peace within Los Angeles. UNITY ONE was established by peacekeeper Bo Taylor who has trained and educated gang intervention workers for the last 18 years.
