USC senior wide receiver Steve Smith was named the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Week for his performance last Saturday in Troy's 28-22 win at Washington State.

Smith caught 11 passes for 186 yards, including a pair of second-half touchdowns (7 and 11 yards), stepping up for Dwayne Jarrett, who missed the game with a shoulder injury. Ten of Smith's catches were for first downs, including 2 on third downs and another pair on fourth downs.

Smith now leads USC with 23 receptions in 2006 for 315 yards (13.7 avg.) and 3 TDs. In his career, he has 142 receptions (ninth on Troy's list) and 7 100-yard receiving outings (1 in 2006). He was a Biletnikoff semifinalist last fall.

He is the third Trojan honored by the Pac-10 this year, along with linebacker Keith Rivers (Arkansas) and Jarrett (Nebraska).

Also selected this week were Washington linebacker Scott White (defense) and California placekicker Tom Schneider (special teams).
