Senior Tom Glissmeyer continued his hot start to the season and sophomore Tim Sluiter also broke par to lead the No. 2 USC men's golf team on the second day of the highly competitive 2008 Ping/Golfweek Preview at the Inverness C.C. in Toledo, Ohio, on Monday (Sept. 29).

USC, playing in its first event of the 2008-2009 season, is in fifth at 9-over 577 (286-291). Oklahoma State (559) leads the pack and is followed by Tennessee (567), Georgia (575), Clemson (575) and USC.

Glissmeyer is in sixth at 3-under 139 (70-69) after a 2-under second round that included seven birdies. Sluiter moved up into a tie for 28th at 4-over 146 (76-70) after a 1-under round that featured five birdies.

Junior Jamie Lovemark, the first-round leader, is tied for ninth at even 142 (66-76). Senior Ryan Linton is tied for 42nd at 8-over 150 (74-76) while sophomore Bo DeHuff is tied for 69th at 15-over 157 (76-81).

USC is trying to extend a streak of finishing in the top four in 11 consecutive tournaments. Troy has also finished in the top 3 in five straight events, a streak that includes three team titles.
