Filling the top three positions on the individual leader board, the No. 2 USC men's golf team took a commanding second round lead at the UCLA-hosted 2008 CordeValle Collegiate at the CordeValle C.C. in San Martin, Calif., on Tuesday (Nov. 4).

In a tournament in which six players play and five are counted, the Trojans finished the second round at a combined 1-under 719 (357-362), a daunting 18 strokes ahead of second-place Stanford (738). Washington is third (739) and Charlotte is fourth (746).

Sophomore Tim Sluiter is in first at 4-under 140 (70-70), sophomore Matt Giles is in second at 3-under 141 (69-72) and junior Jamie Lovemark is tied for third at 2-under 142 (70-72). Senior Tom Glissmeyer is tied for 10th at 1-over 145 (74-77) and senior Ryan Linton is tied for 49th at 10-over 154 (74-80).

Playing individually, redshirt freshman Bo DeHuff is tied for 56th at 12-over 156 (76-80).

Among USC's Tuesday highlights was a Jamie Lovemark eagle on the par 5 15th hole. Glissmeyer and Sluiter had four birdies each during their rounds while Giles had two birdies against two bogeys.

Play concludes Wednesday (Nov. 5).
