USC second-year Head Coach Chris Zambri was named 2008 Pac-10 Men's Golf Coach of the Year while five of his players were named to either the first or second teams the conference announced on Thursday (May 1).

Sophomores Jamie Lovemark and Rory Hie were tabbed as All-Pac-10 first team, Lovemark's second such honor, Hie's first. Selected to the All-Pac-10 second team were junior Tom Glissmeyer and freshmen Tim Sluiter and Matt Giles. No other team had more than a combined three golfers selected to the first and second teams.

Zambri, in his second year as head coach, has directed USC to a stellar season so far that saw the Trojans win three of 10 tournaments. USC just missed a fourth win by being edged out in a playoff by Arizona State in the Pac-10 Championships that finished Wednesday. In addition to the victories, the Trojans finished in the top four in nine of 10 tournaments this season. The USC team victories came in the USC Collegiate Invitational, the U.S. Collegiate Championship and the U.S. Intercollegiate.

Lovemark, a 2007 All-American first teamer and 2007 NCAA individual champion, has a team-best seven top 10 finishes while Hie has six top 10 finishes and two titles, coming at the UNLV Southern Highlands Collegiate and the U.S. Intercollegiate. Both are semifinalists for the 2008 The Ben Hogan Award.

Glissmeyer's Pac-10 second team nod is a first. He was honorable mention last year. His tie for sixth at the Pac-10 Championships and his tie for second in USC's previous event marked his first back-to-back top 10 finishes as a Trojan.
