THIS SEASON: Nick Buckles, a 2009 sophomore, will continue to work to be a dual-meet contributor for the Trojans. 2008: Buckles competed in the freestyle, butterfly and IM as a 2008 freshman. HIGH SCHOOL: Buckles prepped at Downers Grove (Ill.) North High, where he was a multiple Illinois High School Association sectional and West Suburban Conference champion, an IHSA state medalist as a junior, a YMCA nationals medalist as a freshman and sophomore, a USA Sectional finalist as a junior and senior and a NCSA junior national qualifier and an Academic All-American as a senior ... As a junior, he finished a career-best 12th in the 200y IM at the IHSA state finals. Also raced in the 400m IM at U.S. Spring and Summer YMCA Nationals ... Was a 2007 Campbell Scholar at his school as well as a member of the All-Academic team ... A member of National Honor Society and National French Honor Society and was a National Merit Commended Scholar and an All-American Academic. CLUB: Wheaton.
