Freshman Kevin Little won the 1000y free to lead the USC men's team, but the shorthanded Trojan squad, with six of its top swimmers in Dallas at another meet, fell to the host Gauchos, 148-57.

Little won the 1000y free in 9:36.30 and later took second in the 500y free in 4:39.73 with sophomore teammate Pat Foley third (4:48.59).

Newcomer Zoltan Povalsky was second in the 200y free (1:41.54) and Foley earned third in the 200y fly (1:56.52).

Freshman Luke Tanner was third in the 100y free (47.20) and sophomore Andrew Schneider was fourth (47.69).

Sophomore James Martin was second in the 200y back (1:55.36) while junior Kazu Miyahara (2:06.88) and freshman Dillon Connolly (2:07.54). went 2-3 in the 200y breast.
