Results

Senior Bryce Elser tied his career high in the 100y fly for the USC men's swimming and diving team on the second day of the 2008 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash., on Friday (March 27).

Elser swam a 46.96, but finished 17th overall, just outside of qualifying for consolation finals.

Also in the 100y fly, junior Ankur Poseria was 35th (48.09) and senior Richard Gosper was 41st (48.68).

Junior Vanni Mangoni was 29th in the 400y IM (3:57.42).

The 200y medley relay of Poseria, Mangoni, Elser and Gosper was 18th (1:28.28).

Freshman diver Steven Starks was 33rd in the 3-meter fly (258.00). His specialty is the platform, which is Saturday.

The event concludes Satuday, prelims at noon, finals at 7 p.m. (PDT).
