Final Stats

Ankur Poseria, a junior transfer from Soka University led the Trojans to a victory in the 100y butterfly and a second place finish in the 100 yd backstroke as USC gets by Arizona State with a 150-149 point victory at Arizona State on Saturday (Nov. 10) in Tempe, Arizona.

USC improved to 2-1 overall, 1-1 in the Pac-10 with their victory on Saturday.

The Trojans swept the 100y butterfly race, and were led by Poseria who won with a time of 49.51, which was the best time by any Trojan in that event this season. Senior Bryce Elser followed with a season-best of 49.97 and senior Brandon Lovell rounded out the top three with a time of 50.07, which was also a season-best.

Poseria placed second in the 100y backstroke with a time of 51.13, which was another season-best for the junior. Freshman Jake Grosser placed third in the event with a time of 53.23.

Junior Vanni Mangoni also contributed to the victory with two big first place finishes in the 200y backstroke and the 200y IM. His time of 1:49.13 in the 200y backstroke beat his season best of 1:49.50. In the 200y IM, his first place swim was 1:49.56.

Freshman Steven Starks placed third for the Trojans in both 1m and 3m diving.

Next up for the Trojans is a trip up to Seattle, Wash. for the Husky Invite on Nov. 29.
