USC swimming fans will get a chance to watch many former Trojan greats as well as other top Americans at the Toyota Southern California Grand Prix of Swimming, Friday through Monday (Jan. 18-21) at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach, Calif.

The meet, which will feature 23 members of the U.S. National Team, including past Trojan All-Americans and NCAA champions Erik Vendt, Kaitlin Sandeno, Larsen Jensen and Klete Keller, is second stop in the eight-meet Toyota Grand Prix series. Vendt, Keller and Sandeno are all two-time Olympians and Olympic medalists while Jensen is a one-time Olympian and Olympic medalist.

Also competing will be world record-holder Michael Phelps and fellow former Olympians Jason Lezak, Tara Kirk and Peter Vanderkaay, among others, as they begin their march toward the 2008 Olympic Team Trials, June 29 to July 6 in Omaha, Neb.

The Toyota Grand Prix Series serves as an opportunity for athletes to race against top-notch competition as they continue their preparation for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Other stops in the series include Columbia, Mo.; Columbus, Ohio; Santa Clara, Calif.; Charlotte, N.C. and Omaha, Neb. the last which will take place at the same location of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
