Former USC men's swimming co-captain Wilfred Uytengsu, now president and CEO of Alaska Milk Corporation, was named the 2007 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Philippines, last month.

As the Philippine winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Uytengsu will represent the Philippines in the World Entrepreneur of the Year in Monte Carlo, Monaco on May 31, 2008.

While at USC, Uytengsu was a four-year Trojan swimmer (butterfly). His 1983 bio entry in the Trojan swimming press guide listed him as "Dr. All).

Chosen from amongst 15 entrepreneur finalists, Uytengsu was recognized for achieving phenomenal success for Alaska Milk Corporation by expanding, developing and professionalizing the Company's systems.

Uytengsu graduated from USC in 1983 from the Marshall Undergraduate School of Business and was amongst the earlier classes of the Entrepreneurship Program graduates.

He credits the Entrepreneurship Program as having provided a solid foundation in his business career.

"I believe that my education at USC and the Entrepreneurship Program in particular helped prepare me as I took on the challenge of transforming a family business to a more professionally managed organization." Uytengsu said.
