LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - USC men's tennis welcomes a standout addition to its roster for the 2009-2010 season to come, following the signing of JT Sundling to a national letter of intent. Sundling, a native of Thousand Oaks, Calif., was one of the most heavily recruited high schools seniors.

"JT was our top recruit and we are so happy to have him join our program," USC head coach Peter Smith said of Sundling. "He has a long history of success and we believe that he has the type of character to help us win the NCAA championship."

The Westlake High School senior's overall record of 44-19 made him a top prospect for teams including USC, Notre Dame, UCLA, Boise State and Ohio State. The newly signed Trojan holds a national ranking of No. 15 and is slotted at No. 4 in California. Last year, Sundling faced current USC freshman Steven Johnson in the finals of the Southern California Junior Sectional Championships. Sundling also recently reached the finals at the Pan American ITF Closed Championship Qualifying tournament in Tulsa.
