LONG BEACH, CA -- The Penn State men's volleyball team defeated the USC Trojans, 3-2, at the Asics/Active Ankle Beach Bash at The Pyramid on Friday evening. Game scores were 32-34, 32-30, 28-30, 30-25, 15-8.

Zeliko Koljesar led the Nittany Lions with 21 kills and a .529 hitting percentage. Keith Kowal added 20 kills and eight block assists. Richard Schneider and Zach Slenker combined for 26 kills. PSU hit .361 as a team, and registered 16.5 total blocks (31 block assists). Mark Dusharme led the Trojans with a match-high 23 kills in the losing effort. Joao Grangeiro and Ian Gallagher posted 15 kills each for USC as well. The Trojans hit just .289 as a team, and committed 20 service errors.

Penn State faces Long Beach State on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. USC faces Ball State at 5:00 p.m.
