USC junior J.W. Krumpholz scored half of USC's goals in an important water polo win over crosstown rival No. 3 UCLA on Saturday, earning himself his second nod of the season as MPSF Mikasa Player of the Week.
The two-meter man punched in the Trojans' first and last goals of the match. His back-to-back scores during the second half of play put UCLA out of reach, taking USC ahead 5-2 and then 6-2 during the final period. Krumpholz now leads USC in scoring with 33 goals. USC remains undefeated at 20-0 with the win over UCLA and holds a 31-game win streak at home.
Now with two MPSF Player of the Week selections this season, Krumpholz remains one of four Trojans to earn the honor this year.
Krumpholz and the Trojans have two MPSF matches set for this week, as USC hosts Pacific at 5 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 7) and then takes on California at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 8).
