Stefanie Gilbreath begins her USC career as a highly anticipated newcomer, although she will sit out her first season as a redshirt in order to heal a torn ACL suffered just before the McDonald's High School All-American Game.

HIGH SCHOOL
Gilbreath started all but one game in her career at Cinco Ranch High in Katy, Texas... Averaged 18 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4 steals and 3.5 assists, shooting 40 percent from the floor and 35 percent from 3-point range... McDonald's High School All-American... Named a Second Team Parade All-American in 2007 and Fourth Team pick in 2006... Selected to WBCA All-American Team in 2007... Named to USA Today Underclassman All-USA Team in 2005-06... Tabbed the Houston Chronicle's Preseason Player of the Year entering her senior year... Also tabbed Scout.com's 11th ranked recruit... Named District MVP in 2005 and 2006... Rated the No. 7 player in the country by Blue Star and a 2006-07 second-team All-America pick by both Street & Smith and HoopGurlz.com...A member of the West Coast All-Stars/Elite team... A member of the U.S. Under-18 National Team during the summer 2006, winning an Under-18 FIBA gold medal.

Stefanie Rose Gilbreath was born Feb. 14, 1989 in Houston, Texas... The daughter of Wardell and Audrey, she has one sister, Briana... Enjoys hanging out with friends, watching movies and shopping in her spare time... Lists "Love and Basketball" as her favorite movie and "House of Payne" as her favorite TV show... Has always wanted to water ski... Would like to play in the WNBA after graduation... Majoring in kinesiology.
