THIS SEASON
Now in her third year at Troy, Kari LaPlante has established herself as a solid option in the post, looming as USC's tallest player on the roster to add an important presence to the key for the Trojans.
2008-09 SOPHOMORE SEASON
LaPlante played in all 32 games and started 15 as a sophomore... Scored in doubles figures four times, including career-highs of 12 points at ASU and vs. Stanford in the Pac-10 championship game... Had a career-high 10 rebounds vs. Cal in the Pac-10 semifinal... Averaged 5.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game... Accumulated 21 blocks, 21 steals and had 23 assists... Was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line at Utah... Earned Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention.
2007-08 FRESHMAN SEASON
LaPlante appeared in 28 games and started three as a freshman... Received Pac-10 All-Freshman Honorable Mention... Averaged 4.4. points and 2.7 rebounds per game... Hit double figures in four games, scoring a career-high 13 points vs. Oregon State... Had a career-high six rebounds and two blocks at Cal State Fullerton... Third on the team in blocks with 11.
HIGH SCHOOL
LaPlante was recognized as a Top-100 recruit by Scout.com coming out of Mountain Ridge High in Glendale, Ariz., where she holds school records with 1,344 career points and 1,065 rebounds... Team went 28-2 in 2006-07, with LaPlante providing 17.5 ppg, 11.0 rpg, 3 bpg and 2 spg... Shot 51 percent from the floor... Named to the Arizona Republic's 2007 All-Arizona Team and was the 5A Northwest Player of the Year as a senior... Selected to All-State First Team in 2006 and Second Team in 2005... Was the only freshman to receive 5A Region Honorable Mention... Received State Honorable Mention and Region First Team honors as a sophomore and a junior... Played club with Phoenix Phonoms, Arizona Fire and Arizona Elite.

Kari Richel LaPlante was born April 17, 1989 in Mesa, Ariz.... The daughter of Shane and Shelley, she has one sister, Erika... Enjoys making scrapbooks and cards in her spare time... Also enjoys camping and spending time in the mountains... Lists `Charmed' and 'Gilmore Girls' as her favorite TV shows.... Would like to travel to Japan and Rome... Has not decided on a major.
