2008 "Think Pink" at USC Photo Gallery
USC women's basketball is a proud supporter of the WBCA's "Think Pink" events, organized to promote breast cancer awareness and early prevention. The Trojan coaching staff was also active in the first "Think Pink" game days in 2007, and the Women of Troy are eager to participate in the coming "Think Pink" event - set for the USC vs. Washington State game on February 10 at 12:30 p.m.
The Trojans will wear pink shirts during shootaround, and the coaching staff will don pink Crocs sandals during pregame and postgame activities to show their support for the cause.
Fans, too, are encouraged to join in by wearing pink to the game. Fans wearing pink will receive discounted admission ($5) to the game, and the first 1,000 fans to arrive at the Galen Center will receive a mini basketball. The Women of Troy also will hold an autograph session after the game in the Hall of Fame area at the Galen Center.
The WBCA's "Think Pink" initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The WBCA began "Think Pink" in 2007 as an initiative to raise breast cancer awareness in women's basketball, on campuses and in communities. In 2007, more than 120 schools unified for this effort and helped make the inaugural year of the WBCA's "Think Pink" a success.
