Before settling into Troy, USC incoming freshmen Ashley Corral and Briana Gilbreath have a trip set for Colorado Springs, Colo., as the pair have been invited to participate in the U.S. Under-18 National Team Trials. The two Trojan newcomers have been selected among 35 invitees to the trials, from which a 12-player roster will be named for the 2008 USA Women's U20 National Team. The 35 selected athletes will join forces at the U.S. Olympic Training Center to compete in the U18 trials from June 9-12 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The U18 National Team roster including alternates will be announced at the close of the trials, and a training camp will be held July 10-18 as the U.S. squad prepares for the 2008 FIBA Americas U18 Championship, to be held July 23-27 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Both Corral (Vancouver, Wash./Prairie HS) and Gilbreath (Katy, Texas/Cinco Ranch HS) also played in the 2007 USA Basketball Youth Development Festival and were members of the USA White Team that went 5-0 at the festival. The duo also recently teamed up as 2008 McDonald's All-Americans, playing for the winning West team in the All-American Game in March. Corral and Gilbreath are set to join the Women of Troy for the coming 2008-09 season as a talented freshman class joined by incoming freshman Michelle Jenkins and combining with two current Trojans who will see their first action at Troy after rehabbing knee injuries, Jacki Gemelos and Stefanie Gilbreath - Briana's older sister.
