Hey there Women of Troy fans! This is Shay Murphy #14 representing the 818 of course!

I just wanted to give you a quick update about the upcoming 2006-07 basketball season. After the first two weeks of practice, I must say that I am really impressed with our team. As always, our team chemistry is incredible, even with the addition of four freshmen and two walk-ons. The freshmen all stand over 6'1" and are very highly skilled players, while the the returnees have all worked very hard and bring a lot of experience to the court. Due to some crucial injuries, we have added two walk-ons, Nicole Berberet and Lisa Yamasaki, who are very dedicated and contribute to the team's positive energy. We have a great balance of youth and experience and mesh very well together.

Our team is so excited about playing in the new Galen Center. It's absolutely incredible - not a bad seat in the house! We certainly appreciate all our loyal Trojan fans who have supported the Women of Troy in the Sports Arena and Lyon Center, and we hope you will help us fill the Galen Center for all our home games! Our program never underestimates the importance of all the people involved, from the support staff to the managers, trainers, scout team and fans... we thank you!

So let's get ready for a great season ahead! We look forward to seeing you at our home opener Friday, Nov. 10th as we seek revenge against Long Beach State and retire USC legends Cheryl Miller and Lisa Leslie's jerseys!
