Results

The USC women's golf team, the defending NCAA champion and ranked No. 1 in the 2008-09 Golfworld Preseason Poll, finished in fifth after the first two rounds in the season-opening 2008 Fall Preview at the Caves Valley G.C. in Owings Mill, Md., on Sunday (Sept. 7).

In a tournament featuring most of the top programs in the country, USC posted a 36-hole, 19-over 595 (298-297), 16 back of first-place Georgia (579). Virginia is second (583) while Arizona State is third (586) and Auburn is fourth (586).

Freshman Jennifer Song led the Trojans with a 1-over 145 (73-72) to tie for eighth while sophomore Lizette Salas is tied for 16th at 3-over 147 (73-74).

Junior Belen Mozo is tied for 26th at 6-over 150 (76-74), junior Stefanie Endstrasser is tied for 37th at 9-over 153 (76-77) and junior Caroline Kim is tied for 45th at 11-over 155 (77-78).

Action concludes with a third-round shotgun start at 8 a.m. EDT.
