In a match play match-up of the two most recent women's golf NCAA champions, USC and Duke, the Women of Troy fell in a tiebreak to the Blue Devils in the winner's bracket of the 2008 Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship on Monday (Nov. 3) at Ginn Reunion Resort in Orlando, Fla.

USC and Duke finished tied at 2 wins apiece and one tie, but Troy fell in a tiebreaker (determined by how many combined holes ahead each team had when matches were called).

At No. 1, USC's Lizette Salas finished all square with fellow All-American Amanda Blumenherst of Duke.

At No. 2, Troy's Caroline Kim defeated Duke's Kim Donovan, 3 and 2. At No. 3, USC's In-Ah Park lost to Duke's Mina Harigae, 4 and 3.

At No. 4, USC's Jennifer Song defeated Duke's Yu Young Lee, 4 and 3. At No. 5, Troy's Shelcie Takenouchi fell to Duke's Alison Whitaker, 8 and 6.

In a winner's bracket consolation matchup, USC fell to UCLA, 4-1. Park won USC's sole point in the match, 5 and 3.
