April 7, 2008

USC sophomore Rory Hie was named Pac-10 Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for March 2008 while senior women's golfer Dewi Claire Schreefel was tabbed Player of the Week by Golf Digest and Golf World, the organizations announced this week.

Hie won the UNLV Southern Highlands Collegiate (March 7-9), capturing a three-man playoff on the first hole for the title. He also had top 15 finishes in helping USC win the team titles in the USC Collegiate Invitational and the U.S. Collegiate Championship.

Hie was also named Pac-10 Player of the Month in March of 2007. Hie currently is the 14th-ranked player in the country in the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin rankings.

Sophomore Jamie Lovemark was USC's last Pac-10 Player of the Month, winning it in September of 2007.

Schreefel earned her honor after winning the individual title at the PING/ASU Invitational this past weekend. She also won a one-hole playoff to secure her title after finishing 54 holes at 7-under.

Her title was the second of this season and the third of her career at USC.
