The No. 4 Women of Troy came in second in three out of the four grand finals that they participated in at the San Diego Crew Classic, which came to an end Sunday, April 6 in Mission Bay, Calif.

The Varsity Eight just missed receiving the Jessop-Whittier trophy, which would have been for the second year in a row, by turning in a second place finish in the grand final with a time of 6:23.80. Washington beat USC by just .9 of a second with a time of 6:22.90. This race was the most competitive race of the day for the Women of Troy.

The JV Eight also turned in a second place performance in the grand final for the Jackie Ann Stitt Hungness Trophy with a time of 6:41.78. USC once again was out-paced by Washington, who also won this race with a time of 6:36.50.

The Open Eight too earned second place in their grand final for the Carley Copley Cup. They finished with a time of 7:12.20, while victor UCLA had a time of 7:07.7.

The USC Novice Eight finished in sixth place in the grand final for the Laurel V. Korholz Perpetual Trophy with a time of 7: 26.06. Washington State won the race with a time of 7:03.90.

The Women of Troy will look to build on their success from the Crew Classic in their next event, the Stanford Invitational, which will take place April 19-20 in Redwood Shores, Calif.
