USC's Gabriela Varekova and teammate Jitka Antosova of the Czech Republic finished sixth overall in the women's double skulls at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

They reached the final after finishing second in the second heat of the Repechage in 7:00.75. They went 7:25.09 in the final.

Varekova's sixth-place mark tied for the highest Olympic finish for a Trojan rower. Katrin Gleie (Denmark) also finished sixth in quadruple sculls in 2000.

Also competing in Beijing was Trojan rower Zoe Hoskins (Canada) in women's pair. She and teammate Sabrina Kolker finished third in the `B' final, ninth overall, in 7:37.27.
