LOS ANGELES - Crystal James and Stacy Lindstrom scored goals Sunday and the No. 5 UCLA Bruins defeated the No. 11 USC Trojans, 2-0, in Pac-10 Conference action at McAlister Field. The Bruins dominated the contest with a 26-6 margin in shots, including a 17-2 advantage in the first half.

James scored from 10 yards out on the left side at 36:31 for UCLA (12-3-0, 4-1) from an assist by Jill Oakes. Lindstrom scored on a header at 63:14 that sailed over USC goalkeeper Julie Peterson. USC (8-5-3, 3-2) played without junior midfielder Megan Abbamonto, who sat out today's game after receiving two yellow cards in last Sunday's game at Arizona.

Ali Fennell missed a penalty kick with four minutes remaining for the Women of Troy.

Sarah Lombardo needed just two saves to record the shutout while Peterson made 10 saves.

"The first half was probably the worst 45 minutes we have played all season," said USC head coach Jim Millinder. "We missed Megan in our lineup. I thought we played better in the second half, but UCLA is a quality team. Some days you just don't have it and we didn't have it today."

USC continues Pac-10 play at home next weekend with games against Oregon State on Friday (Nov. 1) at 2 p.m. and Oregon on Sunday (Nov. 3) at 1 p.m.
