LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - A No. 2 seed in the 2007 NCAA Women's Soccer Championships, the USC women's soccer team has earned itself a break from a busy travel schedule by earning a home match for the NCAA Third Round. The Women of Troy will host Florida at 7 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 24) in a venue not often used for USC soccer but well-known in the sports world - the Los Angeles Coliseum.

"We are excited to be hosting our first NCAA match in several years," first-year USC head coach Ali Khosroshahin said. "It's a big step for our program, and we're extremely humbled to be playing at one of the most historic venues in sports in the country. It's going to be a great atmosphere, and we look forward to playing the Gators."

USC has hosted three NCAA First Round matches at the Coliseum in the past - a 2-1 overtime win over Washington in 1998, a 1-0 overtime loss to SMU and a 2-1 win over San Diego in 2000. In the Trojans' six NCAA appearances since 2000, USC has opened the postseason the road, and was never able to break through the NCAA Second Round. With USC's 3-0 win over Creighton on Friday and 1-0 double-overtime win over host Missouri on Sunday, the Women of Troy made history by punching their first-ever ticket to the NCAA Third Round as well as tying a program record for wins by improving their overall record to 16-3-2.

The Coliseum is home to the USC football team, which also shared the venue with USC soccer until 2002 when McAlister Field became the fulltime home to Trojan soccer. The last USC women's soccer game to be played at the Coliseum was Sept. 9, 2001 in a nonconference match against Nebraska. USC has accumulated a 26-5-3 all-time record in games at the Coliseum, including a 2-1 record in NCAA matches at the venue.
