THIS SEASON: Kristen Lahey, a 2008 junior, is a versatile sprinter for the Trojans who was an All-American as a freshman. She is USC's top returning swimmer in the 50y and 100y free, the 100y fly and the 100y back.

2007: In her second straight NCAA Championships appearance as a 2007 sophomore, Lahey was 21st in the 100y back (54.39), 28th in the 100y fly (54.56) and 53rd in the 50y free (23.23) ... At the 2007 Pac-10 Championships, the 2007 co-captain finished a career-best third in the 100y back in 53.78, becoming the second fastest Trojan ever in the race. Later in the meet, she led off USC's 400y medley relay with a 53.66, lowering her personal mark in the 100y back. Lahey also repeated her 2006 effort in the 100y fly, taking sixth in 54.11 (her prelim 53.99 was USC's season low) and posted a season best in the 50y free (22.92) ... At the 2007 U.S. Summer Nationals, she was 23rd in the 100m back (1:03.78) and also raced in the 50m and 100m free and the 100m fly.

2006: As a freshman, Lahey became an All-American as part of USC's second-place and school-record setting 400y medley relay at the 2006 NCAA Championships. She was also 23rd in the 100y back (54.89), 25th in the 100y fly (54.42) and 33rd in the 50y free (23.11) and swam on USC's 400y free relay ... She was a finalist at the Pac-10 Championships, taking sixth in the 100y fly (54.08). She was also 17th in the 50y free (23.05) and 18th in the 200y back (2:03.61) ... She raced in four events at the 2006 U.S. Spring Nationals, her efforts highlighted by a 17th in the 100m back ... At the 2006 U.S. Summer Nationals, she raced in the 100m fly and the 50m free ... She was tabbed Most Improved Swimmer and earned the Coaches Award at the 2006 team banquet.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lahey prepped at Fairview High in Boulder, Colo., where she was an 11-time state champion, including titles in the 100y fly and 100y back in 2004 and 2005 ... She broke four state records (including the 100y back twice) ... She competed in three events at the 2005 U.S. World Championships Trials, finishing 22nd in the 100m back, 37th in the 50m free and 62nd in the 100m fly ... She also competed at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 100m back ... She was second in the 100m back at the 2004 U.S. Open.

PERSONAL: She was born Aug. 2, 1987 ... She is a business major ... She was an Academic All-American and was on her school's Honor Roll each semester.
