Dec. 6, 2007

USC women's swimmer Rebecca Soni has been named the Pac-10 Female Swimmer of the Month for November.

Soni, a junior from Plainsboro, N.J., broke the NCAA record in the 200 breaststroke on Saturday at the Husky Invitational in Seattle. Soni swam a 2:07.08, breaking a record set at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships. This swim also broke Soni's own USC record in the event.

Also at the Husky Invitational, Soni won the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.40, a season-best effort that bettered her already NCAA qutomatic qualifying time. She also swam automatic qualifying time in the 400 IM and posted a season-best 2:00.70 in the 200 IM.

This is the second monthly honor for Soni and USC's second women's Swimmer of the Month honor all-time.

Stanford's Eugene Godsoe was selected the Pac-10 Male Swimmer of the Month for November.
