HIGH SCHOOL: Niculescu was a singles national champion in Romania in 2000 and 2003... A member of Romania's national team that finished eighth at the Under 18 European Team Championships and third at the Under 14 European Team Championships... Won the singles title at an ITF circuit tournament in Antalya, Turkey, in May 2005 and also teamed up with her younger sister, Monica, to win the doubles title at that tournament...
