Final Stats

LOS ANGELES -- Jessica Gysin and Kimmee Roleder recorded 14 kills each Saturday as the No. 10 USC Women of Troy swept the Arizona State Sun Devils, 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-21), in a Pac-10 Conference match at the Galen Center. USC (16-8, 9-6) has now won six of its last seven matches.

The Trojans hit .303 in the match, including .519 (17-3-27) in the second set. Roleder hit .407 in the match (14-3-27), adding eight digs. Taylor Carico had 42 assists with 14 digs and two blocks while Alex Jupiter added nine kills, four digs and three blocks.

Sarah Reaves led Arizona State (12-15, 3-11) with 12 kills, seven digs and four blocks while Margie Giordano added nine kills and eight digs.

After USC built a 7-3 lead in the first set, ASU came back with three straight to make it a one-point lead. Jupiter then went back-to-back as a 6-1 run proved to be the difference for USC. With the 15-8 lead, the Women of Troy held off the Sun Devils and closed things out with a 5-1 run.

Zoe Garrett's kill sparked four straight points in the second set as USC broke a 7-7 tie. A 5-1 run later in the set again helped the Trojans to pull away with the 20-12 lead. Jupiter registered a kill and gave USC the 2-0 lead in the match with a solo block.

A 4-0 lead in the third set went for naught as ASU came back with six straight points and the 6-4 lead. With both teams playing to a 16-16 tie, Roleder started a streak of four as Alli Hillgren finished it with a service ace. The Trojans then used Gysin for three kills to procure the sweep.

USC travels to the Bay Area next weekend for Pac-10 Conference matches at Stanford on Friday (Nov. 21) at 7 p.m. and California on Saturday (Nov. 22) at 5 p.m. Saturday's match at Cal will be broadcast on FOX Sports Net.
