SAN ANTONIO - USC senior Bibiana Candelas (Torreòn, Mexico/Colegio Ponceño) was named Wednesday to the 2005 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America second team, her third straight All-America honor for the Women of Troy.

Candelas led USC this season with career-highs in kills (501), kills per game (4.91), points (575.0) and points per game (5.64). Along with her attacking production, she hit a team-high .315 on the season and recorded 119 digs (1.17 average) and 93 total blocks (0.91 average). She earned All-America first team honors in her 2003 sophomore season and All-America third team honors in her 2004 junior season.

A total of 26 USC players have accounted for a total of 52 All-America selections. USC has had at least one All-American in 23 of the last 30 seasons.

The AVCA will hold its banquet to honor the Division I All-America team on Friday in San Antonio, site of the 2005 NCAA Final Four.

USC finished the season with a 17-11 record, reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament. It was the Women of Troy's 15th consecutive postseason appearance.
