HONOLULU - Amidst the first day of the Aloha Classic Water Polo Invitational, the No. 3 USC Women of Troy defeated the Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine, 8-4, in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation action.

The Wahine fell behind early in the first quarter, with USC scoring 3 goals in 1 minute and 23 seconds. In the second, battling back and forth, each team was able to score 2 goals a piece. Karin van Hoff finally put Hawaii on the board, scoring within the first 30 seconds.

Katrin Dierolf, led all scorers with 5 goals, 2 in the first and fourth quarters. It was a team effort for the `Bows with van Hoff, Garner-Prohs, Carroll, and Novick each scoring a goal for the home team.

The Women of Troy improved to 14-2 on the season and remain a perfect 7-0 in conference play while the Rainbow Wahine fell to 4-9 overall and 2-3 in the MPSF.
