The USC women's cross country team will be in action this Saturday (Sept. 16) at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, Calif where 12 schools, including nationally-ranked Arkansas, are scheduled to compete in the 62nd annual race which begins at 9 a.m.

"Our goal will be to finish in the top four," said USC cross country coach Tom Walsh. "I'd be very happy if we could accomplish that."

For USC, it will mark the first race as a Trojan for senior Ashley Jensen, a transfer from a strong Providence program. Jensen competed at the NCAA cross country championships in 2003 and 2005. Also, NYU transfer sophomore Christine Greer will be able to compete in her first official race for the Trojans. She ran unattached at Fullerton and would have had the second-fastest time by a Trojan at the meet (19:31), had she been cleared to run for USC at that time.

"This will be an opportunity for me to see who has started to develop," said Walsh. "It's important that our young runners get better and better, and they have at practice. Now we'll see how they do in competition. This course is tougher than the Fullerton course two weeks ago because there are two pretty good hills, but we've prepared for that."

The Women of Troy will be in Malibu, Calif. next week at the Pepperdine Invitational being held at 9 a.m. on Sept. 23.
