LOS ANGELES. - The USC women's cross country team had eight members named to the Pac-10 All-Academic team, announced today (Nov. 25) by Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen.

Leading the way for USC was sophomore Zara Lukens who was one of 10 conference runners to be named to the first team. Lukens has a 4.0 GPA in Social Sciences and History.

Trojan juniors Chanel Fischetti and Katherine Ellis were named to the second team. Fishcetti has a 3.78 GPA in Social Sciences and History, while Ellis maintains a 3.90 GPA in Engineering.

The five USC runners being named Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention were sophomore Brianna Bentley, sophomore Sarah Cocco, sophomore Zsofia Erdelyi, redshirt junior and team captain Christine Greer and junior Bridget Helgerson.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point-average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
