The USC women's cross country team had five individuals receive Pac-10 All-Academic honors, it was announced today (Dec. 7) by Commissioner Tom Hansen.

Leading the way for USC is sophomore Chanel Fischetti who was named to the Pac-10 All-Academic first team. Fischetti is a Sociology/Neuroscience major who sports a 3.93 grade point average (GPA).

Named to the Pac-10 All-Academic second team was sophomore Katherine Ellis. Ellis is an Electrical Engineering major with a 3.83 GPA.

Junior Taylor Carroll and sophomores Bridget Helgerson and Jennifer Wells were named to the Women's Cross Country Honorable Mention All-Academic team.

Earlier in the semester, USC's cross country team was the recipient of the NCAA Public Recognition Award, given to those teams that have an NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate in the Top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sport.
