2008-2009 Trojan Dance Force Auditions

Love to Dance? Love to Perform? Got Trojan Spirit? TRYOUT!

The Trojan Dance Force is the University's only Athletic-sponsored competitive dance team, and performs at home basketball games. Judges will be looking for 13-16 athletic dancers with solid dance technique, exceptional performance quality, and strong commitment to the Trojan Dance Force. All USC students (including incoming freshmen) are invited to audition.

The team practices 10-20 hours a week to refine their technique and present cutting-edge choreography for basketball games and competitions. Commitment on the Trojan Dance Force takes place over the USC academic school year, starting in August '08 and ending in May '09. The Attendance to all practices, USC Home Basketball Games, and outside performances is mandatory.

Audition Schedule:

April 14th -Information Meeting/ Heritage Hall - 7pm

April 15th - Workshop # 1/Volleyball Gym @ Galen Center - 5-8pm

April 16th - Workshop #2/ Volleyball Gym @ Galen Center - 5-8pm

April 20th - Audition/Interviews Location TBA - 10am-1pm

Dancers will perform a one-minute technical jazz routine, and two across-the-floor combinations including many technical elements such as triple pirouettes, fouette turns, leg extensions, and various leaps.

OUT-OF-STATE VIDEO AUDITIONS:
To be received no later than April 14th 2008

Video submissions should include the following:

  • Technical jazz routine no longer than 1 minute 30 seconds
  • Two across-the-floor combinations
  • Showcase leaps, turns, technique & flexibility
  • Recent Photograph (professional headshot not necessary)
  • Completed TDF Application (including three dance references)
